How to share files and folders in KM0 Cloud

Share within your organization or via a public link, with or without a password, step by step.

Introduction

You can share a file or folder with another KM0 Cloud user or with someone outside your organization using a public link. This guide covers both cases from the web browser.

Before you start

Requirements

  • Signed in to KM0 Cloud.
  • Permission to share the file or folder (usually you own it or have edit access).

If you have not signed in yet, see the getting started in your browser tutorial.

Step 1

Open the share panel

  1. Find the file or folder in your personal space or in a Space.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to its name.
  3. Select Share.

A sidebar opens on the right side of the screen.

Step 2

Share with someone in your organization

  1. In the panel, open the Internal sharing section.
  2. Type at least three characters in the search field to find users or groups.
  3. Select the person or group from the suggestions.
  4. Choose the access level:
    • Can view: read and download only.
    • Can upload: read and upload to shared folders.
    • Can edit: view, upload, create, change, and delete.
  5. Click Share.

The person appears under Shared with in the same panel.

Step 3

Share outside your organization (public link)

  1. In the share panel, scroll to Public links.
  2. Click Add link.
  3. Choose the access type:
    • Can view: view and download, no editing.
    • Can edit: view, download, edit, delete, and upload files.
    • File Drop (secret): upload only, without seeing existing content.
  4. Optional: enter a password in the Password field. If the server requires one, you must set it before saving.
  5. Optional: set an Expiry date if you want the link to stop working later.
  6. Click Copy link and send the URL (and the password, if you set one) through your preferred channel.

Step 4

Remove or change access

  • Internal share: open Share again, find the person under Shared with, open their three-dot menu, and choose Remove share.
  • Public link: under Public links, open the link menu to change permissions, password, or expiry, or to delete it.

When access is removed, the person can no longer see the content immediately.

Common issues

Troubleshooting

  • User not found: make sure you typed at least three characters and that the person has a KM0 Cloud account.
  • The link asks for a password I do not remember: open the share panel, edit the link, and set a new password.
  • No Share option: you may not have permission on that file; ask the owner or Space manager for access.

To grant access to an entire Space (not just one file), see the Space permissions tutorial.
