Day 13 - Meet 6: growth, associations, and next steps
Sixth team meet: how to announce KM0, reach PTAs and neighbourhood groups, privacy vs big platforms, local AI, and concrete commercial next steps.
Introduction
After publishing KM0 Mail in production, the team held its sixth regular meet (meet 6). We did not talk about deployments or DNS: the conversation focused on making KM0 visible, who to tell, and concrete steps to grow without losing the proximity-first approach.
This entry summarises decisions and ideas from that conversation. It is not a literal transcript; it is the actionable recap for anyone following the series from outside.
Summary
Meet 6 topics
- Visibility: show our mail at mail.km0digital.com, ask what other services people need, and share real savings cases vs mainstream alternatives.
- Growth: more people to talk to, better places to meet, and clients who validate the value proposition.
- Associations: PTAs, schools, neighbourhood groups, local cultural teams, and community entities as a natural trust channel.
- Privacy and AI: big companies monetise your data; KM0 can offer storage, mail, chat, and local agents at scale thanks to modern AI.
- Next steps: A4 flyers, shared calendar, future formal association structure, and focus on startups and SMEs that need web space.
Visibility
How to announce ourselves
KM0 already has credible technical pieces: cloud, mail, multilingual web, and an ideas form. What is missing is repeating the message where people already trust each other, not in generic «I teach AI» campaigns that saturate the market today.
- Own mail: use and show
@km0digital.comin contact and materials; it proves we operate what we sell. - Use cases: we help people in the community with domain and web (for example, neighbourhood projects); others who need the same should know.
- Economic pitch: a potential client would save over 100 € per year choosing KM0 vs usual alternatives, with a better user experience.
- Extended services: ask what else the community needs (domain, hosting, migration) beyond cloud storage.
- Materials: prepare banner and A4 flyer reusing the visual line from day 8 (DIN A6) but sized for counters and notice boards.
«We do not need to be the loudest platform; we need anyone who meets us to understand in one minute why we are different and how much they can save.»
Associations
PTAs, neighbours, and local groups
The meet agreed that the most promising channel is not mass advertising but associations that already gather families and neighbours: PTAs, schools, community centres, local cultural groups, and neighbourhood associations.
- PTAs and schools: need shared storage, mailing lists, and tight budgets; KM0 fits better than oversized enterprise suites.
- Neighbourhood associations: minutes, event photos, and group mail without relying on Google Drive or WhatsApp as the only archive.
- Local culture groups: lots of audiovisual material and little own infrastructure; opportunity for storage plans and simple web.
- Commercial approach: short talks and demos, not long «artificial intelligence» courses with no product behind them.
- Formalisation: explore an association or similar structure when volume justifies it; for now we stay in agile community mode.
Privacy and AI
Why KM0 can scale without copying the big-platform model
Large platforms live on your data. AI changes the equation: tasks that once required huge teams can now be automated with well-scoped local agents.
- KM0 platform: storage, mail, chat, and connected services under client control, not under a global advertising profile.
- Local agents: assistants that run close to client data, useful for SMEs that do not know where to start with private AI.
- Trained models: future possibility of sector-specific models (retail, education, administration) without sending documents to third parties.
- Startups: natural target audience: they need web, space, and mail from day one, with predictable cost.
- Honesty: many «I teach AI» sessions are smoke; we show deployed product, not empty slides.
Next steps
What we will do next
- Better meeting place: evaluate more comfortable, recurring spaces for periodic meets.
- Shared calendar: a visible KM0 calendar for appointments, demos, and local events (meet proposal).
- More contacts: expand the network of people interested in privacy, savings, and European software.
- Pilot clients: close the first cases that validate price, support, and user experience.
- A4 materials: design banner and flyer for PTAs, shops, and notice boards.
- Web and services: keep improving the landing, direct service shortcuts, and installation documentation.
The Rust migration discussed in other technical threads stays outside this meet's immediate focus: interesting, but too dense for the commercial growth conversation.
